PostHeaderIcon Learn how to invest in the Philippine stock market, attend this stock market investing seminar !

Tired of reading books or even blogs  on how to invest in the Philippine stock market ? Some people prefer listening to somebody teach them all about how to invest in the stock market rather than reading it themselves. Well here’s a chance to attend a stock market investing seminar.

As I have emphasized in this blog, the stock market is the greatest money making machine ever made by man. You can see the support for this argument in my series entitled “Why I love stock market investing.”

As you all know, most stock market investing seminars are held in Manila, there’s rarely a seminar done in Cebu and other provinces. Although the Philippine stock exchange has been doing a lot of road shows lately, has published a free ebook “How to build wealth with stocks” and has been doing an excellent job in educating the public about investing in the Philippine stock market, there is still a great need to educate the public when it comes to the proper way of investing in the Philippine stock market.

The Analysts-Traders Equities Training Center (AET) has seen this need and has decided to rise up to the challenge. My good friend Claire Quiray, founder of AET has informed of a series of stock market investing seminar that she plans to conduct not only in Manila but in other provinces as well.

This series of seminar on stock market investing is quite unique from other stock market seminars not only focuses on technical analysis but provides a proper balance of both technical analysis and fundamental analysis. In fact there are two seminars on fundamental analysis.

As a value investor, I’ve always abhorred the use of pure technical analysis as I consider it as gambling and speculation.  However I have no trouble with people who use a good balance between technical analysis and fundamental analysis.

Anyway, here are the seminar details. If you are really serious about investing in the stock market you should attend this series of seminars. It may cost you something, but consider this as your investment because if you learn the proper principles of stock market investing, the investment you made in this seminar will return to you one hundred fold !

I was reading you webpage for Analysts-Traders Equities Training Center (AET) Stock Market Investing Seminar. My question is why is the seminar fee almost double if you are a foreigner?

You say the folks who are conducting this seminar are your good friends. Then ask them why they require a foreigner to pay almost twice as much for the same thing? I find that illegal and racist at the core.

Thanks for passing on my views.

    Fred

  • zigfred says:

Fred: I really don’t know what is their reason for this. Anyway your concern is noted, I’ll bring it up to them once we talk about it.

  • Ryan says:

i just came here from http://www.pesorepublic.com/db/stocks-and-stock-trading/

itanong ko po sana kung may free seminar pong pwedeng atenan regarding stock trading?

  • zigfred says:

Ryan: Hi. Yes there are free stock market seminars. But these are just introductory. If you want to really understand how to the stock market works either you read a lot of books or attend a paid seminar. An introductory seminar is good for beginners. The Philippine Stock Exchange conducts a free introductory seminar from time to time.

  • randy says:

    Hi Zigfred,

    Thank.

  • randy says:

    Hi Zigfred,

I’d like to know if you are going to show how stock investment will be choosen i.e criteria of the company in terms of management, equity, liabilities and cashflow.

i would be grateful if you can tell that those topics will tackle on the seminars.

    thanks

    regards,

    randy

  • Jucel says:

    Hi!

May i inquire if you’ll have seminar in Iloilo on September and October.

I am really interested to attend the seminar but I hope it would be in Iloilo.

    Thank you so much!

  • zigfred says:

Randy: I am not conducting any seminar. The seminar I plugged in here, is conducted by a friend of mine. This is a regular seminar she conducts at PSE office in Makati. However the topics will be introduced in these blogs slowly. I like to take time to introduce these topics in order that others who have no clue might be able to digest the information easily. If you want to jump ahead to these topics, I suggest you check out my suggested books for reading. Thanks.

  • zigfred says:

Randy: I agree. But certainly, I assure you, people who invest in stocks ay talagang may pumpasok sa bangko nila. Even if you are just a passive investor, that is you just buy and hold forever, the dividends and capital appreciation of the company you are buying will earn you profits. Provided of course you buy good companies. Take for example PLDT. If you buy PLDT and hold for a long period of time, you are assured of 8 to 9 % return in dividends alone. (PLDT’s standing policy for several years now is to allocate a huge amount of their earnings to dividends) Subra pa iyan sa time deposit. Kaya kung ako ang pililiin, I’d empty my time deposit account and invest in stocks. :-) So talagang if you invest in the stock market may papasok sa bank account mo.

I would also like to make a side note that I am not a fan of becoming an overnight millionaire through stock market investing. While this may be possible especially in a protracted bull run, this is equally dangerous as the higher the prices fly the more adrenaline is pump into the short term players making them take market positions without regards to the underlying fundamentals of the business that the stock represents. When the bull run finally halts, a lot of these short term players eventually end up loosing their shirts.

I prefer to as Buffett says “. . . get rich slowly.” That is why my blog’s heading is “D’ Intelligent Investor” – Intelligent investing that makes business sense :-)

With regards to the double rate pag foreigner, wala akong ma sabi diyan and I can’t do anything about it. I could tell my friend though about the complaints regarding this matter. I am just helping her promote her seminar. :-) Para sa akin helpful naman iyong seminar niya in some ways.

    Happy investing ! :-)

Hi, I am interested in the seminars w/ one on one mentoring. Is there any way this can be scheduled on November 3?
I hold foreign passport but I am a native born in the philippines thus having a permanent residency. This means I have to pay 5000Php.
    thanks

Simar: For one on one seminar contact Claire Quiary at tradersgroup28@gmail.com

  • uzziel says:

Hi,paano ba ang mag invest sa stock market? please send me an email. Thanks

  • zigfred says:

uzziel: Hi ! Its a complicated topic but once you get a grasp of it, you will understand. Just keep on reading books and dropping by this blog and you will learn how to do it.

  • lily says:

I need an advice, what is the best stock to invest in? thanks.

  • zigfred says:

Lily: This is something that you need to determine for yourself. The best stocks to buy are stocks of businesses that you have knowledge of or that you have an idea about (within your circle of competence) has a durable competitive advantage (A moat) and bought at an undervalued price if possible if not at a fair price. :-) This takes research and study of certain stocks.

  • Mrs. Abalos says:

I would like to ask aside from the schedule for April, is there any other schedule for seminar? And at least how much do I need to invest in this stock market?

    Thank you,
    Mrs. Abalos

  • zigfred says:

Mrs. Abalos: You can check out the Philippine Stock Exchange website. (www.pse.com.ph) They constantly place stock market investing seminar schedules. For me, you need at least P 10,000 to start investing in stocks.

  • claire says:

  • jayden says:

How much money do I need to invest in the Stock Market? what do i need to buy Stock? Is it’s ok for me to buy stock without going to seminar, what minimum amount of money to join the PSE Market?

  • zigfred says:

jayden: You can start investing with as little as P 5,000.00 but it will depend on the board lot of the particular company. Yes you can invest without going to a seminar, but it is best that you learn more about stock market investing before trying it out as you might be committing financial suicide. You can read books or follow my blog :-)
