Aileen: In a sense yes, in the stock market, one man's loss is another man's gain. It is also possible that all people could continually gain since business are appreciating in general. But the problem is not all have the same thoughts and ideas on what is the true value of a certain company hence the volatility in stock prices. Nevertheless the volatility is important for liquidity :-)

Quoting from your post: 'Makes me wonder why people keep on following stock market investing systems and strategies that keeps them loosing money in the stock market.'

True enough. i do wonder why people still prefer the instant gratification scheme (really hoping i wouldn't fall in with the bandwagon.. :))
but i have a question sir, isnt gaining and losing in the stock market a cycle? like when someone gains, another has to suffer the losses? or is it possible that all people could continuously gain since businesses are generally appreciating?
